Senior citizen held for murder

Kalyanamma’s only son was killed in a road accident a few years ago and her daughter-in-law moved to her parents house after his death. Kalyanamma and the daughter-in-law equally shared the compensation amount given for her son's death. Kalyanamma extended loans to a few neighbours and had also kept some money in the bank.

 Srinivasaiah was Kalyanamma's old acquaintance. He has a step daughter Jyothi, who stayed with Kalyanamma. Srinivasaiah is said to have demanded Rs 10,000 from Kalyanamma, but was rebuffed. An irate  Srinivasaiah allegedly bludgeoned her to death and fled, in December last year, police added.
