Madhusudhan Mistry, AICC general secretary and incharge of party affairs in Karnataka, has convened the meeting at 7 pm on Tuesday. Parameshwara said the high command wanted more information on the mining issue in the light of the CEC submitting a report to the Supreme Court.

However, party sources said there was imbalance in giving representation to the various districts and regions. For example, while in Dakshina Kannada district, five leaders belonging to the minority community have been made office bearers, in Basavanagudi of Bangalore, four leaders belonging to one major community have been given positions.

Of the 20 associates of Siddaramaiah, only three or four have made it to the office bearers list. Some leaders who are office bearers are also on either the election committee or the working committee.

Also, none of the senior party leaders from the State who are in Delhi have been taken into confidence while drawing the selection list. Mistry may revisit the appointments made and take corrective measures, it is said. Parameshwara said: “We have been called to Delhi to discuss the mining issue. If somebody raises the issue of the revamp of the party, the high command may discuss it also.”
