RGV upset over media reports on differences with Bachchans

Last Updated 27 April 2011, 08:41 IST

"I highly respect Mr Bachchan and am highly affectionate towards Abhishek and the reasons for changes in 'Department' are nothing but date issues," Varma said on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The 'Sarkar' director is allegedly furious over media reports for creating differences between him and the Bachchan family.

"Anyway for whoever wants to know whether we work or not my relationship with the Bachchans is very sacred for me and will remain so forever," Varma said.
When 'Department' was announced there was a buzz that both Amitabh as well as Abhishek were confirmed for the film after the father-son jodi was seen in Varma's 'Sarkar' and 'Sarkar Raj'.

But on April 23, Varma said on Twitter, "I am going ahead with Rana Daggubati instead of Abhishek Bachchan in 'Department' due to date problems."

This also did not put an end to the speculations.

Responding to reports that say Big B is not interested in being part of the film, Varma tweeted, "And now, again some dumb guy even after me explaining the illogic of that allegation went ahead and did a story again (sic)."

"And there's nothing which entertains all concerned more than to be bitchy about things and truth be damned. Whether its being dumb or being malicious these kind of journos want to create entertainment at any cost," he said.

It was also reported that the filmmaker had sent SMS revealing the exact ending of Rohan Sippy's 'Dum Maro Dum' starring Abhishek and also commented on his performance.

To which Varma said, "I haven't even seen the film still he (journalist) went ahead and did a story how I smsed about DMD... Now my question is what I cud have and to whom (sic)."
