Whirlwind damages houses in Kundapur

The whirlwind damaged as many as 15 to 20 houses between 9.30 am and 10 am. A huge tree was uprooted near the road.

Telephone and electric poles have been uprooted. In Goliyangady GP limits, the house of Subraya Naik, Baby Harijana, Lalitha Poojarthi, Nirmala Malya, Sugandhi D Shetty and Keshava Samagara of Yalanthoor village have been damaged when a huge tree fell on it. The tiles have flown owing to the whirlwind.

The movement of vehicles on Someshwara-Haladi road was disrupted when a huge jack tree was uprooted and fell on it. Several cashew, mango and arecanut trees have been uprooted by the whirlwind.
