Kalmadi allowed to take insulin

Kalmadi, 66, who was arrested April 25, is in CBI custody till May 4. He is lodged at the CBI headquarters in the CGO complex on Lodhi Road.

His lawyer filed a petition in the court requesting that CBI should be directed to give insulin injections to Kalmadi.

The court had, earlier, in its order allowed Kalmadi home-cooked food.
Kalmadi is accused of irregularities in the award of a contract to a Swiss firm for the Timing-Scoring-Result (TSR) system for the Games, causing a loss of Rs.95 crore to the exchequer.
He was suspended as member of the Congress after his arrest.

As per court orders Kalmadi is being examined after every 48 hours. CBI sources say that he is medically fit.
