Lure lands lecturer behind bars

Nandini, assistant lecturer at Department of Electronics and Communication (E and C) at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology (VVIET) here is that pedagog, who is now remanded to judicial custody. Nandini had allegedly lifted the debit card of her senior Surekha Manoj on March 31. She had used the same to buy a shoe and cellphone for her boyfriend Manjunath, besides four sarees for self. The incident came to light when Surekha received a message on her cellphone about the purchase. Shocked Surekha lodged a complaint with Nazarbad police. Acting on the complaint,  the cops searched for clues at two malls and a saree shop with the help of CCTV footage. It came to light that Nandini had used the card. Initially, when the cops reached Nandini she rubbished it, only to relent later. Her boyfriend is absconding.

A resident of J P Nagar in the city, Nandini is a M Tech holder, earning salary of Rs 17,000 per month.

Three arrested

N R Police have arrested three youths on charges of robbery and have recovered a gold chain and two-wheeler worth Rs one lakh from them.Wasim Pasha, Mudasir and Yasin Pasha are those trio. They had lifted the chain from Shamshad Begum on APril 1, when the latter was returning home.
