Govt transfers Lokayukta ADGP in Karnataka

Dutta succeeds A R Infant, who has been promoted to DGP grade and posted to Training wing.

Dutta's transfer comes a day after the Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed by two advocates who had challenged the stay granted by the Karnataka High Court on complaints filed by them against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The apex court, while dismissing the petition, asked the High Court to consider the application moved by the complainant, if any, for vacation of the stay not later than six weeks.

Advocates Sirajin Basha and Prashant Kumar challenged the March 29 Karnataka High Court order which had allowed the petition filed by Yeddyurappa's son-in-law Sohan Kumar.

Basha had sought directions to lift the stay on criminal proceedings against Yeddyurappa and his family members in a complaint case related to irregularities in denotification of land. Sohan had challenged the lower court order for further proceedings, including the Lokyukta probe, against them.

Meanwhile the state posted acting DGP and IGP S T Ramesh as Chairman and Managing Director of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation.

Ramesh, who is concurrently holding charge as DG and IGP, was hitherto headed Training wing.

Harshavardhan Raju, ADGP, waiting for posting has been posted as ADGP (Recruitment and Training), Bhaskar Rao IGP and Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety has been posted as IGP (Anti-terrorist cell), Bangalore, a notification issued here said.

K S R Charan Reddy DIG, under orders of transfer and promotion as IGP, Eastern Range, Davanagere has been posted to Internal Security Division in Bangalore.

Reddy's transfer as IGP Eastern Range has been cancelled. The government also transferred some IAS officials.

Subash Chandra Khuntia has been posted as Principal Secretary to Government, PWD vice V Umesh transferred as Principal Secretary Cooperation Department.

Amita Prasad, Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department has been transferred as Principal Secretary, DPAR. Prasad will continue to hold additional charge of the Post of Director General, Administrative Training Institute, Mysore.
