The transporter has been identified as Hafeez (35), a resident of Nagamangala Town. Police sources said that Hafeez had planned to sell the birds, which he had captured in the forests. Dy SP Channabasappa said that police conducted the operation based on a tip-off from the public. While the accused had killed all the birds, he had cleaned the feathers.
