Architect of Chinnaswamy Stadium passes away

Padmanabha began his career as a teacher and subsequently started his own practice as an architect, setting up K P Padmanabha & Associates in 1965. He worked on diverse projects from being a consultant to cinema houses to resorts and hospitals, among which Chinnaswamy Stadum is a highlight.

Assisted by his elder son Sukhen, KP Padmanabha & Associates also designed the Namma Metro stations.

Padmanabha had pledged to donate his body for medical research to M S Ramaiah College. Dr Kumar, Principal, M S Ramaiah Medical College, supervised the harvesting of organs and the body was shifted to the hospital on May 5 for research purposes. He is survived by his wife Shubha and sons Sukhen and Pradhan.
