Call to emulate saint Shankaracharya

Speaking at a function organised in connection with Shankaracharya Jayanthi and ‘Tatvajnani’ day here, he said the Saint Shankaracharya toured the entire contry, met 72 religious leaders and spread dharma. Now there is a grave threat to the integrity of the nation and need of the hour was to tread the path shown by Shankara.

Deputy Commissioner K Amaranarayan, Superintendent of Police B S Prakash and others offered floral tributes to the portrait of Shankaracharya.

On this occasion, Srinath rendered the songs composed by the saint. He was accompanied on mridanga by Shivashankar and Arjun on Violin.

Assistant Director, Department of Kannada and Culture, Manjappa, Assistant Commissioner A B Basavaraj, Deputy Superintendent of Police C Basavaraju, District Watershed Development Officer Lakshman, Deputy Director of Department of Mines and Geology B D Narasimhamurthy and Deputy Director of department of Horticulture Girish were present.
