A face painting by Swathi on her friend Sneha, a student of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) at the ongoing ‘Decibel-2011’, the annual fest of Department of Electronics and Communication, caught the attention of participants as it showed the destruction due to terror and at the same time wanted to show the yearning for peace among youngsters.

The face painting event witnessed the participation of about 20 pairs.

The paintings seemed to essay a sense of various factors affecting the society. From saving tigers to displaying the role of late Hollywood actor Heath Ledger as the ‘Joker’ in ‘The Dark Night’, the students expressed images that have clung to their minds.

Apart from face painting, events on the final day of ‘Decibel-2011’, saw students participating in ‘Niyojanam’ - a game conducted to test management skills. Participants were given case studies of problems faced by business ventures and also told to analyse the value of shares on a mock stock market. Student co-ordinator Chandrakanth Bobba said that Snake Shyam had shown five types of snakes to the students. He gave them pointers on steps to be taken in case of snake bites and also answered the volley of questions showered on him by the students.

An entertainment quiz conducted on the occasion, tested the knowledge on English television programmes. Also with the victory of Indian Cricket team still fresh, a World Cup Quiz was also held.
