Villagers stop minister's car

The protesters stopped the vehicle of Minister C H Vijayashankar who was travelling from Mysore to Madikeri and handed over a memorandum to him.

They said that though the request was kept forth many times in the past, no action has been taken so far. Since there is no express bus facility provided to this village, the villagers find it difficult to travel to Madikeri.

Accepting the memorandum, the Minister promptly called the Transport department officials and directed them to do the needful, on the spot.

With this assurance, the protesters withdrew the protest.
