This helped imbibe the maximum of what he studied during the six hours he put in each day. Not to forget his painting hobby that optimised his concentration.

Amit is the lone child of G S Nagaraju, an assistant engineer in the Hassan Zilla Panchayat and Veena, who works at the M Krishna Law College.

Elocution is also among Amit’s areas of interest. He has won many prizes, including those at the State, national and international levels.

He thanks teachers in his college for their 100 per cent support, be it providing tips on the phone or at their homes itself.

Busy with tuitions and college classes from 5.30 am itself, he got time to study only at night, with the toiling hours extending to 12.30 am.

Amit scored a triple century, each in the subjects of physics, chemistry and biology. He got 99 in maths. He has scored 98 and 93 in Kannada and English respectively.

Medicine and clearing the IAS exam are on his agenda for the future. Amit had scored 96 per cent of the marks in SSLC.
