Chinese beat up 3 Indians in Haryana

Last Updated 11 May 2011, 18:01 IST

All three are reported to be critical, albeit out of danger. The Chinese officials were working on a six-lane national highway No-8 project in Riwari district of Haryana.

Police have booked at least five Chinese officials , including the Director of the foreign company — Long Jane Road and Bridge Private Limited — executing the project under various sections of the IPC.

According to sources, Durg Vijay Chauhan, one of the engineers, went to company director Sui to sort out a pending issue. The discussion ended in heated arguments following which it is alleged that the director along with four others attacked Chauhan.

On hearing Chauhan’s cries, some other Indian employees, including a surveyor, rushed for help, but met similar fate.

Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said the Chinese nationals involved in the incident have been booked and further investigation was underway.
