Sanjyot’s father Sunil Kumar is a lawyer and mother Jyoti is a housewife. “I studied for six hours a day. I didn’t take coaching, but worked through 10 years of question papers.

Surprisingly, I found 70 per cent of those questions in this year’s papers,” Sanjyot told Deccan Herald. “Besides studies, I took part in sports. I played table tennis at the State level. I like literature too,” says Sanjyot, whose talents and interests range far and wide. “I want to do IAS,” he says confidently. After finishing his engineering, of course.
Aloysius girl jubilant

Preetha Andrea Sequeira was on cloud nine for apparent reason that she secured 98.3 per cent in the commerce stream in II PU exams.

“I didn’t expect it. I had expected only up to 97 per cent. The consistent effort yielded me good results,” said Preetha who stood second in the State in the commerce stream.

The student of St Aloysius College in Mangalore didn’t take any tuitions or extra coaching as she thought every student should adopt her own way of studying and not to follow “short-cuts” taught in the tuition classes.

“ I studied one-and-a-half hour every day. I used to take rest after studying a while and listen to music for de-stressing. Hence, I could write exam without any stress.”
She scored cent per cent in business studies, statistics and accounts, 99 in maths, 92 in English and 99 in Hindi.

The daughter of Alphonse Sequeira, a Vijaya Bank employee, and Marian Sequeira, Preetha wants to become a Chartered Accountant. Preetha attributes the success to her parents and teachers.
