The triple Olympic champion and world record holder, who ran the third leg for Jamaica in Beijing, brought home his Racers Track Club in 37.46 seconds, much to the delight of another capacity Crystal Palace crowd. A strong US quartet finished second in 38.05.
Only the Jamaican team, who set the world record of 37.10 in the Beijing final last year, and two American teams have clocked a faster time.

Daniel Bailey of Antigua, third in Friday's 100 metres, ran the first leg, passing on to Jamaican Yohan Blake, second on Friday and the sport's fastest-ever teenager after clocking 9.93 in Paris last week.

Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba won the women's 5,000 in 14 minutes 33.65.
