* Since you spend a great deal of time in the sun, you should apply a sunscreen 20 minutes before stepping out. Look for an anti-tan sunscreen with a high SPF. These details should be mentioned on the label of the product. If you stay out in the sun for long, re-apply the sunscreen.

Apply sesame seed (til) oil daily before a shower and massage it into your skin. Mix gram flour (besan) with curd, lemon juice and a little turmeric (haldi) and apply the paste on the affected areas thrice a week. Wash it off after half an hour. You can also apply a lemon-turmeric cream on your dark spots.

Splash cold water on your face. Follow this up by toning with an astringent lotion. This prevents the formation of pimples.

Mix a little cinnamon (dalchini) powder with a squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops of honey.  Apply the paste on the pimples every day and leave it on for two hours. Wash off with cold water.

Take two teaspoons of curd, add a pinch of turmeric and apply this paste every day, on the face. Wash off with plenty of clean, warm water after 15 minutes. It helps to relieve dryness and can dramatically reduce the number of pimples.

I also recommend the application of an anti-blemish cream every day,  at night, only on the dark spots. Leave the cream on, overnight.

Mix Fuller’s Earth or multani mitti with rose water and lemon juice and apply the paste on the face, twice or thrice a week. Wash off after it dries.
