Last Updated 13 May 2011, 16:15 IST

After kicking up some dust in the Silicon Valley, the riders will travel to motorsport hub Coimbatore for the second leg on May 22 before breaking up for four months. The season will then resume in Chennai on September 18, travel to Chandigarh (Oct 9), Kolhapur (Oct 23) before signing off in Pune on November 27.

“We kick-started the season in Bangalore last year and the response was brilliant,” said Shyam Kothari of Sportstrek, the organisers of the event, at a press conference here on Thursday night.

“Bangalore is one of the major racing hubs, espeicially rallies, and last year saw a good turnout not just in the number of participants but in terms of crowd too. Therefore, we decided to launch the season in Bangalore again and expect another successful beginning.”

Manyata Tech Park on Hebbal Ring Road will once again play host to the event in the City with the track measuring approximately one  kilometre. The challenging closed circuit, designed by motocross veterans Pratap Bhagwat and Ashok Yande, will consist a combination of eight double jumps, three triple jumps, a table top measuring 100 ft and eight berms.

As has been the norm over the years, competition will be staged in six categories -- Foreign Open, Novice, Indian Experts, Locals, Indian experts ‘C’ and Private Open class.

Team Pune and Team Goa -- both sporting different manufactures -- are expected to provide some test for TVS, who despite main rider CS Santhosh’s last minute pull out due to injury, have enough talent at their disposal to call the shots.
