Forum demands tabling of HIV/AIDS Bill

The Human Rights of People Living with HIV are regularly violated and they are subjected to undue stigma and discrimination in various forms, believe the Forum.

The Forum stated that there is a gap in the existing legal response for people suffering from AIDS and it said that the HIV/AIDS Bill needs to extend its ambit over the private sector also, in order to protect the victims from discrimination.

“We demand the urgent tabling of the HIV/AIDS Bill in the parliment without further delay,” said Surekha N, from the Bangalore HIV/AIDS Forum.
