Led by City unit president Shivakumar, the party workers alleged that the Governor H R Bhardwaj is acting like an agent of Congress party, making continuous efforts to topple the democratically elected government.

The Governor’s behaviour is against the gubernatorial post. The Centre should recall him (Governor) for the very recommendation, though the government enjoys absolute majority. The centre should take the facts into consideration without acting in haste on the recommendation.

The agitators also took severe exception to the recent hike of Rs five in fuel price. Due to the constant rise in the price, the common man is put into hardship, especially that of middle income group families. The people already reeling under inflation are in a fix.

Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman B P Manjunath, MUDA Chairman L Nagendra, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairman Nanjundaswamy, BJP Yuva Morcha District Unit President Arun Kumar Gowda, former MLC C Ramesh and others were present.

Communist Party of India  also staged a protest demonstration against rise in fuel price. They alleged that Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the centre has increased the prices of essential commodities umpteen number of times after its return to power. The government unable to check inflation, is favouring fuel price hike. CPI district secretary H R Sheshadri, assistant secretary Raju were present.

Mysore Kannada Vedike activists led by their president S Balakrishna, ‘Naala Beedhi’ Ravi, M Basavaraju and others also staged a protest against hike in fuel price.
