College watchman murdered at Basavapatna

Dh photo    Personal rivalry is said to be the main reason for the incident. Mehaboob Pasha (50), watchman in HMS Pre-university College, is the victim.

He belonged to Kalenahalli village and was working at the college for last many years. His body was found in a pool of blood on the college premises.Holenarasipur Deputy Superintendent of Police Parashuram, CPI Kumaraswamy, former MLA A T Ramaswamy visited the spot.

Konanur Police have registered a case.

Bike rider dies; two injured

A two-wheeler rider died on the spot and two pillion riders were seriously injured when the bike on which were travelling dashed against a tractor parked  on Madavadi- Medani road near Talakad on Sunday night.

Umesh, son of Mahadevaiah of Medani village is the deceased. Satish and Mahesh of the village have been injured in the mishap. They have been admitted to K R Hospital for treatment. Police Inspector Gajendraprasad, Talkad Police Sub-Inspector M R Lava and others visited the spot.

Man commits suicide   

A person allegedly committed suicide by coming under the wheels of  a moving train near Srirangapatna on Sunday night.

Siddarajanayak (25), son of Dasanayak, resident of Ranganathnagar of the town, is the deceased. He came under the wheels between Paschmavahini and Srirangapatna Railway Station. The reason for his extreme step is not known. Railway Police Sub-Inspector Shivaramaiah visited the spot. Railway Police have registered a case.

Youth washed away  

A youth was washed away in Visvesraya canal when he was bathing cows at Mandibettahalli village of the Pandavapura taluk, on Monday.

Karthik (18), son of Shambhulingeshwara of the village, is the victim. Efforts by villagers to save him proved futile as he was dead by the time they rescued him.

Later, the body was found a few meters away from the spot.

Srirangapatna Police have registered a case. The villagers demanded the taluk administration to give a compensation of Rs two lakh to the kin of the deceased.

Oxen dies 

Two oxen were electrocuted when it came in contact with the severed live wire at Santheshivara village in Channarayapatna taluk in Hassan district, on Monday.
The incident occurred when Gangaiah of the village, was riding the bullock cart .The oxen fell down and died after stepping on live wire.

Gangaiah is also injured in the incident and he is admitted to Taluk General Hospital.
Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Assistant Engineer  Shivanna, Veterinary doctor Somashekhar, Nuggehalli Police Sub -Inspector Narayan visited the spot.
