Bajaj Auto Q4 net up 165%

Total income of the Pune based two-wheeler major for Q4 increased by 25 per cent to Rs 4,300.94 crore from Rs 3,441.95 crore.

The company pointed out that its bottomline was boosted by exceptional gain of Rs 827 crore due to surplus on prepayment of sales tax, while it had provided for diminution in the value of investment in Bajaj Auto Indonesia of Rs 102.27 crore during the quarter.

For the financial year 2010-11 the company posted net profit of Rs 3,339.73 as compared to Rs 1700.11 crore for the previous fiscal, showing a jump of 96 per cent. Its total Income has increased to Rs 16,974.74 crore in 2010-11 from Rs 12,043.48 crore in the previous year.

Bajaj Auto has recommended a dividend of Rs 40 per share (400 per cent) for the year 2010-11 on the expanded share capital after issue of bonus share in the ratio of 1:1.
