45 bags of hoarded rice seized in Malur

Tahsildar raided godown

 Forty-five bags of rice, allegedly hoarded in a godown, were seized by the tahsildar during raids here on Monday.

Acting on a complaint by public, Tahsildar V Raghavendra swooped on a rice godown in the town.

The rice bags, said to be belonging to a person named Oil Babu were found in a godown owned by Chinnamma in Pattalamma extension of the town.

The bags were found to contain 50 kgs of rice.

A complaint has been registered in this connection and  Food inspectors Sonnappa and Munireddy participated in the raid.

Ration cards

Meanwhile, Food Shirastedar Ramachandrappa has said that temporary ration cards have been distributed to 14,500 beneficiaries in the taluk.

However, ration has not been provided to the beneficiaries as the State government has stopped the scheme itself.
