Kaur’s father Kulwinder Singh wanted his daughter to end the relationship. But Kaur wanted to prolong the relationship with the hope that Sarabjit would one day marry her.
Late of Friday in an isolated field in the village, Kaur’s father Kulwinder Singh and brothers Gurpreet and Harpreet killed both of them with sharp weapons and fled, the police said.
The police said the girl’s family did not have an objection to their marriage. The two bodies, with multiple deep cuts inflicted by sharp-edged weapons, have been sent for autopsy. Search teams have been dispatched to nab the accused, the police said.
