JOIN US22 injured as maxi cab topples
The vehicle was going to Hassan from Alur. It toppled near Yagachi bridge in Kandali village in the taluk that left 22 persons injured.
The mishap has occurred around 9.30 am on Monday. Rash and negligent driving is said to be reason for mishap. The driver overtook three or four vehicles and was about to overtake an autorickshaw when he lost his control over the vehicle.
In the process, the maxi-cab toppled three times on the highway and then came to a screeching halt.
A majority of passengers suffered fractures, leg and arm injury and some even complained of head injuries. A couple of them were said to be in serious condition. The local people swung into action and helped in shifting the injured to government hospital for treatment.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Channabasappa, Circle Inspector Girijesh and other officials visited the spot. Hassan Traffic police have registered a case.
