France arrested SIMI activist Mohammad Niaz Abdul Rashid, from Tiruchirappali in Tamil Nadu on May 10 for operating a terror network and recruiting French nationals for his group.
Home Minister P Chidambaram said here that according to initial reports, Rashid had recruited eight French nationals of Moroccan, Tunisian and Pakistani-origin to his outfit, which was part of a network in the Pakistan-Afghanistan region.
