Awesome: Salman KhanReady to rock

The music of Salman Khan-Asin starrer ‘Ready’ seems to have given a new lease of life to the Bollywood music circuit.

Taking this further, comes the ‘Ready’ concert from T-Series, an initiative by the 3rd Rock Entertainment in association with Provogue India and Agni Jewels at Hotel Tulip Star on June 2.

For Salman Khan, who promises the box-office a much-awaited hit after ‘Wanted’ and Dabangg, it was time to be at the receiving end during the ‘Ready’ press conference.
Provogue India gifted Sallu a signature jacket while Agni Jewels gifted him Salman, a jewel-studded sunglass adding a dash of glitter to the superstar’s persona.

Lending support at the event was also singer Shibani Kashyap and music composer Pritam who enthralled audiences with their enthusiastic performance.

International models took centrestage as Salman made his grand entrance on stage amidst much uproar.

Said Bhushan Kumar, CMD, T-Series, “‘Ready Live Mad Concert’ is the next step forward to bring the entertainer Salman on to the stage. I am sure the show will create mass hysteria.” Prashant Shirsat, Director, 3rd Rock Entertainment, who also recently organised the Dum Maaro Dum Concert featuring Abhishek Bachchan adds, “We aim to create a strong foothold in event and artiste management. I’m excited to introduce the Hollywood feel to Bollywood.”

Said Salman, “It feels great when you have mass adulation. That is what keeps us actors alive. On stage, you sense this love and affection instantaneously. As an entertainer, I thoroughly enjoy the experience and want everyone to enjoy the same as well. I am looking forward to the concert.”

The three-hour long electrifying concert is scheduled to be held at 6 pm at the Tulip Star Hotel, Juhu on June 2 amidst 10,000 fans.

Contests are being held in Mumbai to choose the privileged few  who would be entitled to enter this much-anticipated concert.

The event organisers have planned a high voltage music-meets-fashion extravaganza where 40 stylish models from across the country will walk the ramp apart from Trip Recipe, Shibani Kashyap and DJ Ramji Gulati keeping the audiences entertained with their thumping DJ mixes.

Along with Salman and Asin, composer Pritam, singing sensations Tulsi Kumar and Neeraj Sridhar will also set the stage on fire that night.

‘I still cry and get stressed’

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who has transcended geographical boundaries and won hearts of millions with his charismatic screen presence, says he doesn’t consider himself a star.

“The reason I say I am not a star is because I am completely human. I still cry, I still laugh, I crack jokes, I get stressed, I feel disturbed but I think you people love me so much because I could be human,” he told reporters at the music launch of his latest production Always Kabhi Kabhi, releasing June 17.

“Even though I have this pedestal where I stand which says I am a big star but actually I am nobody till I work hard to make you smile,” added the 45-year-old.

To give a Midas touch to the film, Shah Rukh has appeared in a promotional song of the film Always Kabhi Kabhi. ‘It’s not an item number. It’s the beginning of the film. The music and the lyrics of course make it a peppy number,” he clarified. This directorial debut of Roshan Abbas is also launching two new faces — Zoa Morani and Satyajeet Dubey.

Actor Giselle Montario of Love Aaj Kal fame and Ali Fazal who did a small role in Aamir Khan-starrer ‘3 Idiots’ play lead roles in the film. Set in a school, Always Kabhi Kabhi is about four unique youngsters trying to compete with pressure of growing up and many firsts that everyone experiences in high school.

As today’s school life has changed a lot, King Khan could hardly identify with any except the determination of the youths to accomplish their goal.

“The youth part of the film is the same as it was in my time, but the way they deal with their life has changed. There are many things in the film that I have not done in my school life. So there are many things I couldn’t identify with," said Shah Rukh.

“Life has changed so much. But the thing that the film says, follow your dream, I could easily identify with. I never thought that I would come to Mumbai and do so much of work but yes I always aspired to be an actor or a sportsman. The film also shows that we should do something that I am willing to do instead of choosing the way where I can lead an easy life,” he added.

Ileana D’CruzWith a soaring career graph

In 2006, Rakesh Roshan directed her in a beauty cream ad. Ileana D’Cruz has surely come a long way since then. Making her debut in the Telugu film Devadasu, the Mumbai-born girl moved on to become one of the biggest South Indian actresses with hits like Jalsa, Pokkiri and ‘Kick’ to her credit. And now, after making her big Bollywood debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Anurag Basu’s Barfee, her career graph seems to have taken a leap uphill.

Balaji Motion Pictures has zeroed in on the 23-year-old actress for their film ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai — Part 2’, which is based on the life of the dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The pretty lass will be playing the role of yesteryear actress Mandakini, who was allegedly involved with Dawood Ibrahim. Ileana will be sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar in this sequel to the successful ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’.

Keeping the fans happy

While movie-buffs still can’t get over ‘Wolverine’ from the last installment of the ‘X-Men’ series, here is another mind-blowing saga from one of the most popular action franchises ever.

‘X-Men First Class’, the latest of the ‘X-Men’ films is all set to hit theatres on June 10 and going by the exciting new trailer that has already created a huge buzz across the globe, this one is sure to keep audiences at the edge of their seats.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Becon, Rose Byrne and January Jones amongst others, the film takes you back to where it all started.

The storyline of the movie revolves around the friendship between Charles Xavier aka Professor X and Erik Lensherr aka Magneto. The 1960s setting for this film, coupled with outstanding special effects, brilliant action sequences and powerful characters is sure to thrill you like never before.   And Indian audiences are in for a bigger treat as they can enjoy the film in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu as well!

Producer Bryan Singer explains that in spite of taking ‘First Class’ into the 1960s and introducing an almost new group of mutants, the prequel will connect to both ‘X-men’ series loyalists and other film-buffs.

Singer further expresses how glad he is that Matthew Vaughn has directed the film. “Matthew has a deft hand with multiple characters and storylines, and a great love for the ‘X-men’ universe. I feel the combination of this story and his vision will make for an exciting and original ‘X-men’ film,” states the producer.

James McAvoy states how thrilled he is to have played Charles Xavier’s character with shades of grey and his intriguing relationship with Magneto.

“Professor X and Magneto’s relationship is like a powerful love story. This is the first time in their lives they’ve met someone who is an equal of sorts, someone who understands them and can push them too,” McAvoy says.

At the heart of it all, McAvoy says, are Charles and Erik and the magnetic hold they have on each other.

“We are sure fans cannot wait to catch this yet another exciting part to their favourite action series of all time,” McAvoy adds.

Ash versus Mads

Soham Shah, the director of Satte Pe Satta remake, has upset Sanjay Dutt. The director recently made an announcement that Madhuri Dixit will be playing the female lead opposite Sanjay in the actor’s co-production with Shree Ashtavinayak.

Sources say Sanjay is upset because Madhuri was never approached by the producers and Aishwarya Rai and Kajol were the first choices for the role originally played by Hema Malini in the 1982 flick.

An upset Dutt insists that Aishwarya has been the only choice for the role.

Returning as a warm host

Akshay Kumar will be back as the host of Khatron Ke Khiladi 4, which goes on air on June 3. The actor is amused over previous speculations that Salman Khan or Ajay Devgan were going to host the Colors’ flagship reality show this time after a not too successful season with Priyanka Chopra last year.

Apparently, Akki was signed four months ago to host the programme.
