Rajamma was allegedly murdered when her son, Kiran, had been to attend a wedding in Hassan and daughter-in-law, Navya, was at her parents’ house, the police said. Her husband Basava Reddy had died about six months ago.

The incident came to light when Kiran called her over the phone and didn’t get any response. Kiran alerted Navya and his friends who found Rajamma in a pool of blood.

Only gold ear-rings were missing on her body, the Subramanyanagar police said.
Joint Commissioner (Crime) Alok Kumar said two to three persons, probably known to the family may be involved in the act and they would be arrested in a few days.

The family had rented out their house in Marathahalli and shifted to Kothnur Dinne as it was closer to Kiran’s factory on Bannerghatta Road.
