State cops in Kerala to quiz Halim

Crime Branch DySP D Rajan who leads the special investigation group III said that he was intimated from Bangalore that the duo had reached Kozhikode.

Halim, third accused in the 2006 Kozhikode twin blasts case, was arrested during a combing operation in connection with the recent Ernakulam district collectorate blast. He was remanded in police custody by the Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court III on Monday.  Halim is believed to be one of the conspirators of the Bangalore blasts though at the time of the incident, he was in jail in connection with a vehicle theft case in Aluva.

He told the cops after his arrest last week that the vehicle that he had stolen then was actually intended for the Bangalore  blasts. Halim has admitted to have had close links with Sainudheen alias Abdul Sathar and Sarfaraz Nawaz, now jailed in Bangalore for their role in the serial blasts.

Meanwhile, Halim claimed that he had no hand in the twin blasts in Kozhikode, at the KSRTC and mofussil bus stations here on March 3, 2006. He put the blame on a man named Thadiyantavide Nazir.
