Cabinet reshuffle after session: Eshwarappa

“Some vacancies in the Cabinet have to be filled and some ministers need to be dropped. The party will arrive at a decision soon after the session,” Eshwarappa told reporters at Mantralaya on Sunday.

He said the BJP committed ‘some mistakes’ in the run for power in the State and courted trouble for issuing tickets on the basis of caste and money power. “Such mistakes would not repeat in future. The State has registered progress despite the dissidence and other hurdles,” he said. A special camp will be conducted for party legislators on discipline and commitment. The plan is to organise a one-day workshop in each Assembly segment, Eshwarappa disclosed.

Bail granted

The VII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Bangalore on Saturday granted bail to Eshwarappa in a matter relating to giving a call for Karnataka bundh.

An advocate had filed a petition claiming that Eshwarappa was responsible for the loss and damage caused during the bundh. The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Eshwarappa after he failed to appear before  it.

The hearing has been adjourned to August 27.
