The students looked confident and geared up for the competition ahead of them during the annual Convocation Day that was held at the college recently.

This year 100 students completed their postgraduate diploma in management and were awarded their graduation certificate during the convocation.

Students, accompanied by their parents, were dressed in graduation gowns and were seen enjoying every moment.  The convocation provided them with an opportunity to spend time with their classmates, before heading off in different directions. Students utilised this opportunity to introduce their parents to their friends and faculty, clicked pictures with them and exchanged contact numbers.

K Dinesh, co-founder of Infosys delivered the convocation address by quoting from popular books and citing examples from his life.

“Every successful venture is a result of hard work. When an innovative idea is taken seriously by those who believe in action, it results in a path-breaking success story. In the business world, every action needs a disciplined approach and a justifiable purpose. In this emerging new world, youth have a significant role to play. In the race for success, there will be many hurdles and trials. Those who face them without compromising their integrity and principles will be honoured at the end even though they finish slowly,” said K Dinesh and presented diplomas to the students.

S Devaki was declared as the overall topper as she had topped both marketing and systems specialisation with 88 per cent and 90 per cent respectively. She won three gold medals and a cash prize of Rs 35,000. Sai Sumana Vasishta won the gold medal as she topped in finance specialisation.

P Madhuri who secured the first place in human resource stream with 85 per cent also won a gold medal and cash prize.

On the occasion, Suhas Gopinath, president and CEO of Globals Inc was presented with Leadership Excellence Award for his achievements at such a young age. “This college has updated, industry-friendly syllabus. This isn’t a run-of -the-mill management course. In the last two years, we went for so many industrial visits and attended a lot of seminars. We met business delegates from more than 15 countries. I had not thought of winning gold medals but wanted to score good marks. I am grateful to the institution and faculty for moulding and grooming the leaders in each one of us,” said Devaki S, the overall topper.
