Monsoon revives in DK, Udupi

Owing to the heavy rains on Wednesday, Chelyadka bridge between Puttur-Panaje has been inundated. The water-level in drains and rivers have increased. Riders wading through the water logged roads in City were common on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, Bantwal received the highest rainfall of 116 mm, followed by Belthangady—80.2 mm, Puttur—72 mm, Moodabidre—66.4 mm, Kadaba—62.5 mm, Mangalore—49.6 mm. Sullia received the lowest rainfall of 29.4 mm. The water-level of Nethravathi in Belthangady has increased to 18 metres. The water-level of River Nethravathi at Bantwal stood at 8.3 metres against the danger-level of 8.5 metres. The water-level of Kumaradhara river in Uppinagady is 18 metres. As many as three houses have been partially damaged at Puttige village in Moodabidri. The loss has been estimated at Rs 44,000.

In Udupi

Udupi district received an average rainfall of 64.40 mm during the last 24 hours.
Karkala received the highest rainfall of 126.80 mm followed by Udupi—42.20 mm and Kundapur—24.20 mm rainfall.
