B'lore blast case: Halim claims ignorance

Sources said that Halim denied having anything to do with the serial blasts saying that all he did was try to steal a Maruti Omni van from Aluva in Ernakulam in March 2006.

This he did on the directions of Thadiyantavide Nasir, believed to be a key link in the terror network in the country and who was last reported to be in Dhaka.

Apparently, Nasir had requisitioned the vehicle to be deployed in the serial blasts.
However, Halim was caught by the local people, beaten up and handed over to police.
Halim told the cops that Nasir didn’t tell him anything more about the impending serial blasts in Bangalore in July and he ended up in jail during that period.

However, he has admitted to having close links with Sainudheen alias Abdul Sathar and Sarfaraz Nawaz, jailed in Bangalore for their role in the serial blasts.
