Seeking justice for 26/11 not unrealistic demand: Rao

Last Updated 09 June 2011, 19:13 IST

“We want Pakistan to do more to bring the culprits of the Mumbai attacks to justice. Let me tell you, we are not asking for the moon. We are not asking for unrealistic things. We are asking for justice,” she said while interacting with a group of visiting journalists from Pakistan.

Her remarks come on the day when Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik had claimed that Islamabad had fast tracked the trial of seven suspected 26/11 perpetrators in the Rawalpindi court and the delays were due to New Delhi’s indecision over allowing a judicial commission from Pakistan to interview key officials probing the terror attack.
Rao is likely to review the outcomes of the series of bilateral talks held between March 28 and June 3 last with Bashir, which would mark the beginning of the structured dialogue which India suspended after the 26/11 attacks.

The Joint Secretary (External Publicity) and official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday confirmed that the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries would meet later this month.
