The association will file a reply sought by board president Shashank Manohar by June 13 explaining their stand on the matter, KCA secretary TC Mathew informed the reporters after a special general body meeting of the association.

Mathew on his part alleged that the franchise owners were trying to shift base to another state on frivolous grounds.

About the security issues during the home matches and the tickets not having government seal, Mathew defended the state body putting the blame on the Kochi Municipal Corporation for not doing the needful.

"Sufficient number of tickets were not sent by the franchise to Kochi corporation office to affix their seal and no proper arrangements had been made to ensure that the tickets reached the various booking outlets sufficiently early," he said.

Admitting that for the first two matches several spectators without valid tickets had managed to sneak into the stadium, he said city police commissioner had been informed by the association about this lapse.

Mathews further stated that it would be unfair to blame KCA for the mess as the ticketing and security issues are fracnhises' prerogative.

KCA also said the franchise has to pay them about Rs 1.20 crore for conducting the IPL here and so far only Rs 30 lakh had been paid for one match.

The BCCI had earlier viewed the stand-off between KTK and Kochi Corporation on the entertainment tax issue "very seriously".

Kochi corporation had alleged that the franchise was indulging in lot of irreregularities to evade tax while the franchise in turn alleged that they were being forced to pay full tax for the complimentary tickets given to the corporation also.

In the match between KTK and Chennai super kings, 9000 priced tickets were sold beside another 300 complimentary passes were given.

However, over 35,000 spectators were there at the stadium, which was a "serious" security lapse.

The franchise had paid Rs 2 crore as tax for the first two matches here. About Rs 26 lakh was paid as entertainment tax for the complimetary passes given for the first match.

The KCA has also decided to constitute a seven member disciplinary committee to look into the issues of factionalism in the Kozhikode Cricket Association. Mathew said "We will give them one more opportunity to set things right failing which strong action would be taken".
