Huawei launches three smartphones in City

IDEOS X5 is the latest Generation Y Smart-phone for the young professionals, while IDEOS X2 is the sleek touch screen phone targeted at the youth. IDEOS Chat with both touch screen and QWERTY keypad will be focused for the younger and on-the-go audience. Priced at Rs 14,999, IDEOS X5 is a HD Smart-phone offering a 3.8” WVGA full touch screen with SWYPE features which helps users to write as fast as on a PC. This phone with a Qualcomm 800 mhz chipset and Android 2.2 operating system can also work as a WiFi hot spot enabling 8 internet connections through it. It has 5 MP flash camera and 720p HD video recording and playback features for entertainment.

 Huawei Devices Marketing Director Anand Narang said “Backed by the success of IDEOS and on the basis of our understanding of Generation Y in India, we see an increasing shift in the demand for smart-phones in India.” the company’s R&D centre at Bangalore has contributed to the embeded software in the phone.  

The other device launched was IDEOS X2 smart-phone with a 3.2” HVGA capacitive touch screen,  an optical keypad, with faster internet access via 7.2 Mpbs download speeds and WiFi 11n for maximizing the internet experience.

It also comes with long-lasting 1150 mAh battery supported by battery-conserving “Proximity sensor” and eyes-friendly “Ambient Light sensor.” The Androis 2.2 phone is priced at Rs 8,999. Huawei will launch 8 handsets in 2011 and a range of tablets in the quarter three of this year, Narang said.
