Iron ore trucks violate ban

More than 300 lorries have been parked at Nellyadi and Gundya on NH 48 affecting the movement of other vehicles too.

Vehicular traffic between Nellyadi and Gundya has been totally disrupted for the past three days.

As per the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, police have been deputed at Gundya, who of late have kept a watch on the banned vehicles. However, lorries from Hassan have continued to enter the border. Uppinangady SI Nagesh Kadri said such lorries would be sent back.
