I love to use this e-tool to note down, edit, move and group the notes on my desktop. Developed by two Microsoft Employees, StickySorter, can do all this and much more than what can be done with the physical stickers. Yes, you can use it to capture and record your thoughts and ideas, sift through, and organise them.

Not only can notes be recorded using this application, even import of data from existing files is possible. StickySorter further record multiple fields on a note and comes with a field editor to name, organise fields and set properties. Notes can be saved in csv file format, which helps open them in a variety of applications and choice of colours for each sticky note. StickySorter supports Affinity

Diagramming, a data analysis method, which is used in many disciplines including user research, product planning, and design. You can download the 3 MB StickySorter at at http://tinyurl.com/65amyyy

Wunderlist is another note-taking utility. As it is web-based it would  be well liked by people, who are wary of downloading things from the web.  Like StickySorter,  it is a task management application to help stay organised whether you’re  using a Windows or Mac operating system, using an iPhone or an Android device, or even an iPad.  Practical applications include: Keeping track of everything you want to do, making separate lists, one for your work life and  the other personal and checking off items done.  Individual tasks and entire lists can be shared by email, Facebook, or Twitter, and completed tasks can be viewed as separate lists. Search for specific tasks can be carried out by keyword, specific dates and times. Important tasks can be marked and these override other less important ones. More at  www.wunderlist.com
