Property worth Rs 2.05 crore recovered

Police say they solved 72 vehicle thefts, 41 house burglaries, 18 other thefts, 11 robberies, four chain snatchings, and one dacoity. Among the suspects, 40 were arrested for vehicle thefts, 33 in connection with other thefts, 22 on the charge of house burglaries, eight for robberies, three for chain snatchings, and two for dacoity, Commissioner of Police B G Jyothi Prakash Mirji told reporters here on Wednesday. The law-enforcing agency recovered 19 four-wheelers worth Rs 98.3 lakh, 2.7 kg gold jewellery worth 55.11 lakh, seven three-wheelers worth Rs 7.75 lakh, Rs 5.05 lakh in cash, 57 motorcycles worth Rs 24.83 lakh, one kg silver ornaments worth Rs 60,000, four laptops and desktop computers worth Rs 1.8 lakh, 11 mobile phones worth Rs 67,000, and other valuables worth Rs 11.03 lakh.

Of the crimes solved, 19 were reported in Malleswaram, 16 each in Peenya and Jalahalli, 14 in RT Nagar, 10 in Rajagopal Nagar, nine each in Yeshwanthpur and Mahalakshmi Layout, eight each in Vidyaranyapura and Hebbal, seven each in Subramanya Nagar, Rajajinagar, and Nandini Layout, six in Srirampura, four in Sanjaynagar, two each in Gangammanagudi and Soladevanahalli, and one in J C Nagar.
