Former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda will lead the sit-in in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hassan. Party MLAs, zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat members will participate in the protest.
Addressing reporters, H D Revanna, JD(S) flooor leader in the Assembly, said no development works were taken up in the district since 2008. Despite several requests and representations to the chief minister, there has been no positive response from the State government, he said.
Revanna said Gowda had also written to the chief minister explaining how the work started between 2004 and 2007 had been stalled.
