President of Adima cultural organisation and thinker Kotaganahalli Ramaiah will preside over the sammelan which will be held for two days.

However, the usual pomp and gaiety associated with sahitya sammelanas is missing this time.

Except for Coronation Road in front of the school, no other road has been decorated for the mega event. Even the school building, where the literary bigwigs of the district will discuss the state of Kannada language in the district, has not been painted. Cleaning of the surrounding has also not been taken up.

No holiday

It is a norm to declare holiday to schools when Kannada literary meets are held in districts to enable the schoolchildren to take part in the meet. However, on the first day on Saturday no holiday has been declared robbing the students of an opportunity to witness the literary meet.
