State to seek more funds for Metro

Securing additional funds will help hasten the project without any financial hiccups.
Also, the delegation will exert pressure on the Centre to rename the Bengaluru International Airport after the City’s founder, Kempegowda. The City has witnessed a series of protests after the Centre failed to consider the State government’s request to rename the BIA.

Dismissing the need for a High Speed Rail Link to BIAL, Ananth Kumar said the HSRL will not be helpful to local residents but will only benefit those coming from other parts of the City. “Whereas, the Metro will be all inclusive and its expansion until BIA can be considered,” he said.
