In a bizarre incident, a man suspecting fidelity of his wife, has allegedly poisoned his one-and-a-half-year-old son to death.

Nishore son of Ravi and Sumitra couple, residents of Saraswathipuram slum in the town, is the unfortunate victim.

Ravi had separated from his wife two years ago, after learning that she was suffering from heart-related ailments.

The couple married for six years had a son named Kishore. Sumitra was pregnant, when Ravi walked out of the relationship. It was very recently Ravi returned and rejoined his wife. By the time, she had borne another kid (Nishore) to the embarrassment of Ravi.

Enraged, Ravi took the child outside on June 16. He was fuming that his wife was having an extra marital affair and the kid was born out of that relation.  Ravi allegedly took the kid near a temple and fed the latter with a sweet spiked with poison.

He soon returned home and left the child. Subsequently, the infant developed uneasiness and the anxious relatives rushed the child to Cheluvamba Hospital in Mysore. The treatment turned futile, with the baby succumbing on Saturday morning.
