The finale of ‘ Aerodreamz’ which had an air show attracted a huge crowd of participants, their parents and the general public giving the function a feel of a carnival.

“Aero modeling is an extremely addictive hobby and is not a cheap alternative to fling but a great alternative,” said Wing Commander Nanjan Saravanan.

Addressing the valedictory function of Aerodreamz, the Wing Commander said that the sport of aero modeling was a major stress buster and the fun was in building and flying the models.

The hobby was time consuming and needed a bigger initial investment which was a deterrent for people to pursue this hobby, he added.

The air show was the most awaited part of the function by the people. The show had three control line models, two of which were flown by the Wing Commander himself. The control line models attracted a lot of cheer. It also had Chuck gliders and Catapult gliders which were flown by the participants of the aero modelling workshop.

“This has been a very rich experience of teaching for students of different age groups. I have learnt a lot from this,” said M M Prasanna Kumar who was the instructor of the workshop.

The aeroshow also had the aero modelling team of the National Cadet Corps who also demonstrated their models.

The stadium was filled with enthusiastic participants and parents who had come to witness the models made by their children take flight.

“ The response to this show is very good , the aero modelling workshop is a success and we will have it every year,” said Rotary Mysore president Venkataraman. The function also had an exhibition of all the models made at the workshop and the participants explained the working of each model.

“This is a runaway success, we are very happy,” said an elated Shreyas. “The turnout here has been amazing and we have succeeded in what we had planned,” added Ananya who were the coordinators of the workshop.
