JOIN USSix persons travelling in the car were injured in the mishap.
One of the deceased has been identified as Naushad (40), hailing from Uttar Pradesh, while another remains unidentified.
It is said that both the deceased were working as carpenters and were proceeding to Maddur on a scooter, when a car coming from behind hit their vehicle killing them on the spot. Subsequently, the car driver lost control over the steering causing the vehicle fall into ditch.
Severely injured, driver Hiremutt and Suresh, one of the passengers have been shifted to a Bangalore hospital for further treatment. The other injured are Mallappa, Ranjit, Savarinath and Manjunath. They are being treated at the district hospital.
PSIs Gopinath and Mahesh visited the spot. A case has been registered at the town police station.
