Rly Mazdoor Union to stage protest today

In a press meet on Tuesday, Anthony Raj, vice-president of the Union said the union members would stage a demonstration in front of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office at 11 am on June 22, demanding for the implementation of various demands.

Stop outsourcing jobs

The railways should immediately stop outsourcing of jobs, privatisation and contract labour system and abolish 12 hours and introduce eight hours duty for all yard staff.

The Government should enhance patrolling allowance from Rs 6 to Rs 30 and remove conditions of educational qualification on par with widows for wards of employees in case of CG appointment in group D’ employees.

The PF interest should also be increased from 8 per cent to 13.5 per cent, he said.
The trackman should be declared as skilled workman and grant grade pay.

Medical facility

While, parents of employees should also be included in the medical facility, privilege passes should be allowed for unmarried or unemployed sons of the railwaymen up to the age of 33 years, he urged.

Union secretary Jayaram, divisional chairman M S Mohan Raj and others were present.
