Pejawar against Dharmasthala face-off

“During the oath taking ceremony, one will be surrendering to God and when both pledge on the same issue, one who takes the false oath will be cursed. The implications are not good for both the parties,” he said. “I am personally against such oath-taking.

When two leaders of the State are indulging in this, it will set a bad example. They can sort out their differences in some other way,” he said and added that legal system and Lokayukta will have no meaning if people start taking oaths in temples to prove their point.

He also said he has not contacted Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade about the matter. In case the two political leaders decide to take oath, then Heggade has to do his duty as the Dharmadhikari.

“I have advised both of them to withdraw from the oath-taking and I hope they will follow it,” said the seer.

‘Govt has nothing to do with truth test’

Mandya: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s challenge to H D Kumaraswamy for a truth test at Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple is the Chief Minister’s personal
decision and has nothing to do with the Government, Home Minister R Ashoka has said.
Speaking to reporters here he said that the Chief Minister must have put forth this poser to Kumaraswamy in view of the latter’s frequent allegations of scams against the
former.

The Opposition leaders have adopted a ‘hit-and-run’ approach in making baseless allegations. They do not have the patience to wait for the court verdict, he added.
