Hindustani Sangeeta Kalakara Mandali and ‘Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs’ are holding ‘Pt Shankara Sadashiva Joshi Memorial Concert’.On the occasion, a lecture-cum-demonstration on the subject, ‘Brief history of harmonium and its application in Hindustani Raag Sangeet by Vyasamurti Katti, will be held on June 25, 6 pm at Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, near BMS College of Engineering, Bull Temple Road.  He will be accompanied by Anagha Bhat (vocal), Jagadeesh Kurtkoti (tabla) and Sowmya Bhat (tanpura).

 ‘Sampoorn Santhe’

Sampoorn Santhe 2011, a handicraft exhibition with 145 artisans and 25 NGOs, will be held at Chitrakala Parishath till June 26. On display will be attractive wooden toys, banana fibres, trendy bags and clothes.

There will also be ganjeefa art from Mysore, pateena craft from Delhi, longfee pottery from Manipur and oak wood silk from Uttarkhand. The timing is between 10 am and 7.30 pm.
