Two arrested for fake job racket

A team of the City Crime Branch (CCB) raided their office on Race Course Road and seized documents, photocopies of answerscripts of examinations conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and Rs 20,000 in cash.

The police said they laid a trap several weeks ago after a tip-off. The duo would identify unemployed youth and advise them not to attend the questions in the exam for which they didn’t know the answer. They would tell the aspirants that they had their ‘men’ in the KPSC, who would help them clear the exam. In return, they demanded money from the youth. The two had allegedly cheated several youth who hadn’t got any job.

One killed in accident

An unindentified person was killed after a speeding Tata Indica (KA 02 AB 2816) hit him at about 11 pm on Thursday on Gavipuram Main Road here.

According to the complainant, Padma, the driver was speeding at unacceptable limits and hit her and the person who succumbed to injuries near the 8th Cross junction on Gavipuram Main Road.
