SH at Bandimata submerges following heavy rains

Movement of vehicles to Shimoga affected; Low lying areas flooded

A house in Bandimata has been inundated. However, there was no casualty. Agricultural crops and arecanut plantations have been submerged in the rain. Karkala Tahsildar P Acchyuth visited the spot.

Heavy rains continued to lash Udupi.

The water logged roads caused inconvenience to the vehicle users as well as pedestrians.
In the last 24 hours, Karkala received 74.20 mm, followed by Udupi 20.50 mm and Kundapur 16.60 mm rainfall.

The house of a certain Sundari Kappettu collapsed in Udupi incurring a loss of Rs 10,000.
Low lying areas have been inundated in the district.

In Mangalore

The heavy rains which lashed the district on Thursday receded on Friday. However, it continued to remain overcast throughout the day. Rains accompanied with thunder and lightning intensified in the evening.

In the last 24 hours, Bantwal received 45 mm rainfall, followed by Puttur-38.2 mm, Sullia-31.2 mm, Belthangady-29.2 mm and Mangalore-15.4 mm rainfall.

Water level in River Nethravathi in Bantwal is 5 metres while in Uppinangady it is 17 metres.
Water level of Kumaradhara is 17 metres.
